Holliston Oil:
A Family Legacy of Service and Community

From an Exchange Street family home to a trusted local fuel company serving generations of customers, Holliston Oil has grown through hard work, integrity, and a deep commitment to the Holliston community.

Holliston Oil began in the mid-to-late 1940s, founded by Joseph Damigella, Jr., a lifelong Holliston resident, and his wife, Pauline Damigella. In those early years, Joe and Pauline built their home on Exchange Street, where they lived for the rest of their lives and where the business itself first took shape.

The Exchange Street house served as both their family home and the original headquarters of Holliston Oil. From day one, Joe built the company around the same principles that defined him personally: excellent workmanship, reliable on-time deliveries, and fair, competitive pricing.

Word spread quickly. His customer base grew, and so did his reputation as an honest, hardworking businessman who always stood behind his work.

A Third Generation Steps Forward

In 1990, Joe Jr.’s grandson, Scott Damigella, entered the business, extending the family legacy into its third generation. By the end of 1996, Joe III and Scott were running the business side by side, supported by Joe’s wife, Beverly, who helped with office operations.

Growth, Modernization, and Winter-Ready Service

From 1997 through 2007, Holliston Oil experienced a decade of significant growth and modernization. The company replaced its entire fleet of oil delivery trucks and added vehicles to support its expanding customer base, including a four-wheel-drive oil truck designed for steep or difficult driveways during harsh New England winters.

The company also broadened its service and delivery areas for both heating oil and diesel fuel, strengthening its presence across the region and positioning itself for continued success.

Damigella Field Dedicated

Joe Damigella was deeply involved in Holliston’s youth programs and community organizations. If a group needed help, Joe showed up quietly, consistently, and wholeheartedly. In recognition of his decades of service, the town dedicated the field across from Holliston Oil to him in 2000, now proudly known as Damigella Field.

The Past 20 Years

Investing in Customer Convenience

Over the past 20 years, Holliston Oil has continued to grow through competitive pricing and exceptional customer service. To improve the diesel customer experience, the company added secure, state-of-the-art diesel pumps available 24 hours a day, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in customer convenience and modern infrastructure.

During this time Scott focused on day-to-day operations, his father, Joe III, was able to devote more time to expanding his well-known antique truck hobby. Today, the Damigella Collection is recognized throughout the Northeast among antique truck enthusiasts.

A New Generation of Leadership

In March 2025, the company suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Joseph Damigella III, who was still serving as president of Holliston Oil Service at the time of his death. His leadership, dedication, and deep commitment to the community remain an important part of the company’s legacy.

After decades of family stewardship, Holliston Oil transitioned fully to the leadership of Joe Jr.’s grandson, Scott Damigella, who continues to guide the company today.

Damigella Field, dedicated in 2000, stands across from Holliston Oil as a lasting tribute to that community spirit.
